What's in the Bag - Favorites Edition

I haven’t been in the game long, but I’m curious what everyone’s favorite clubs throughout their career have been. While the tech has certainly improved, I know there’s some old reliables that get remembered fondly…
To start things off, I remember having a used Big Bertha Warbird (something like the picture) when I was learning to play in middle school. It was my favorite club and takes me back to some good memories at the driving range with my dad.s-l400 (1)

This thing was before my time but I always loved seeing it on the course.

I have only ever used Lynx golf clubs. My first set were Prowler blades. They got stolen. Then I had a set of USA cavity backs and now I play with Tour blades, Predator woods and an Acushnet Bullseye putter.like Johny Miller used to use

Irons: Ben Hogan Apex Edge Pro

Driver: Cleveland Classic 290

This baby right here. I took driver out of my bag for four years because of this club. 280 on a rope every single time. Finally caved the face and thought my life was ending. Sad day. What a club.

You’ll have to pry my Callaway Apex hybrid from my cold head hands

Scotty Cameron Newport with an oil can finish. Even if I still had it, I probably wouldn’t be gaming it because my putter stroke is more suited towards the mallet, but still that was a great club I got for a crazy low price. Sold it when I gave up the game (temporarily as it turned out).

Only really memorable driver I ever had was a Cobra SS 290 Hyper Steel (with a steel shaft) that I cracked the face on when I was 19.

My current favorite club (which was really just a throw my hands up purchase because I couldn’t hit a hybrid or utility iron for the life of me) is my Titleist 917 F2 5-wood. It’s quickly become a go-to off the tee on awkward par 4s and into greens on par 5s.

We had another topic going about fairway woods vs. hybrids vs. utilities. In the end, just gotta play whatever suits your game best! Even 7 woods are back in style on the tour (for some courses).

Maxfli A10 irons from 2001. Those were the days. I still take them out for a hit now and then in social games.

Nice! I reeealllyyy wanted a set of those when I was 18, loved the small progressions until you wound up at a full on blade. Sad that the Maxfli brand turned into a bankruptcy hot potato and tossed around between so many companies. At least the current owner (Dick’s Sporting Goods) has tossed the name on a decent ball!

After I snapped the heads off several of the clone 845s clubs I’d built a set out of from the random club rack at the driving range, I finally bought my first set of irons in high school (used of course): Cleveland 588p’s

They were 6-7 years old at that point, but I still thought they looked cool (almost a blade). 2-PW and I did play the 2 iron even though I probably shouldn’t have.

Played those until I was getting ready to go off to my PGM program and decided I needed some new irons, so I picked up the TaylorMade 200 Steel irons (on clearance):

For many a year, I played Hogan Apex II. My favorite club, ever, was Apex II Equalizer wedge. I had confidence that I could hit any shot, from any lie.
