“Hi, I’m a hockey player, but I’m playing golf today” - Happy Gilmore.
That was the level of my involvement in golf for much of my life. It was fun to go to the range with my dad, but I struggled with the mental aspect of playing a round (and I didn’t really practice it). Played hockey through college and golf was just a recreational thing with teammates.

Then I graduated and moved to New Orleans, LA. A wonderful city, but one that has a certain lack of ice rinks (shocker). After a year of sitting around pining for the rink, I got the clubs out and have been pushing myself for about 18 months to improve as a golfer and scratch that competitive itch! So far I’ve managed to topple 100 and 90; next in my sights are 80 and a single digit index!

Outside of the golfing sphere, I’m a HS Physics teacher. A job which certainly has its benefits for someone who has picked up golf (hello weekday rounds in the summer!); but also a job that I absolutely love.
I also have a wonderful spouse and together we have three cats, each named after a hockey player!
