What Products Would You Like Reviewed?

Not trying to beat them. Trying to offer another perspective. Often times my reviews are products that I like and end up using myself but sometimes I donā€™t know what everyone wants to see.

Yeah, but it would be so much fun!!

To do it right you would need to really account for a lot of variables in not only the wedges, balls, but also how each golfer is delivering the club. Which is why custom fitting is always the best solution. No aggregate test could possibly account for everything.

I think you should stick to the Practical Golf mentalityā€¦ ā€œWill this make you better?ā€ AND ā€œHow can this make you better?ā€ā€¦

Plenty of basic reviews on most products out there, it would be cool to see (as an easy example):

Speed Sticks, weā€™ve seen they improve your club head speed, how can you use that new found speed to play better golf?

And then cover both if they work, and how to use them to actually GAIN benefit from using themā€¦

A counter example would be the ā€œplane swingerā€ or whatever it isā€¦ the rubber band on a track on a beltā€¦ that helps you get on planeā€¦ Does getting on plane actually HELP dispersion? I donā€™t knowā€¦ but thatā€™s a much more interesting question than does it help get you on planeā€¦

Iā€™d love to see a review of the newer True golf shoes. I know we talked briefly about them, but Iā€™m wondering if theyā€™ve become more stabile, etc than the first pair I got years ago.

Growing on this, Iā€™d love to see a test of shoes in generalā€¦ possibly even start out barefoot, tennis shoes, spikeless, spider spikes vs metal spikesā€¦

Would be interesting if you could test how much actual impact they have.

Oh how I miss metal spikes.

Iā€™d like to know about these. They are very doesnā€™t, they better work for that price.

I tried them and wasnā€™t in love with them. Iā€™d have to say Iā€™m philosophically opposed to the concept. Where your feet are aimed at setup is very personal, and even if you look at pro golfers you can see varying styles (think Bubba). In fact, I think if a lot of people tried to ā€œsquareā€ their feet perfectly it would harm their swing - I know it would hurt mine.

In terms of their stability/comfort, I think they did a very good job. But I didnā€™t notice anything groundbreaking like some of their claims. Last, but perhaps not least, they look like orthotics, not into the style at all :grimacing:

Well that sums it up in a nutshell. Not your words but mine; Waste of money. Hahaha. I definitely didnā€™t want to buy them to find that out. Thanks @jon

I pretty much exclusively wear Foot Joy and New Balance, as they are the only ones who consistently make 14 4Eā€¦ I am still curious about how much a difference different shoes make.

Good grief 14 4E. You and Shaq should get together and make a golf show, hahaha. Must be a real pain in the ass to find shoes. Iā€™m 5ā€™9ā€ and wear a 12. I get enough grief about that, like, you donā€™t even need to rent skis when you go to the snow. Yah yah.

Ha, I think I can fit both my feet into Shaqā€™s shoe, honestly.

My method for buying shoes is: Are they on sale? Are they 14 4e? OK, into the cartā€¦ I have some ugly shoes due to this processā€¦ Honestly, in the internet age, itā€™s not all bad. I know what size I need, and I can filter out the results. Other than dress shoes, I donā€™t care what they look like, so I tend to wear a lot of New Balance.

Sunglasses are much more difficult, as I have a pumpkin head and there arenā€™t any standardized sizesā€¦ At one point, I had the perfect pair and 4 years later I crushed them with my bare footā€¦ Iā€™m still upset about it (and still remember how much it hurt!)

Itā€™s not specifically a product, but it would be cool to see some testing on different shaft lengthsā€¦ gains in speed vs loss of controlā€¦ Obviously it would require more than one tester, as Iā€™m sure itā€™s different for everyone.

Would always be good to see a PG take, but do you watch TXG content on YouTube? They have lots of great stuff on shafts.

I check in with both MGS and PG before buying anything golf. Always good to have a different perspective. The golf ball thread is a great example. As you can see in the 60+ comments here, many golfers play brand new ProV1s every time out, and just as many play used balls. MGS makes a convincing case for high quality balls if one wants top tier performance, but for those who want to save a few bucks, PGā€™s used balls vs new balls article puts many minds at ease! Cheers!

I donā€™t spend too much time on YT, but I have seen their stuff and I think itā€™s excellent!

Best golf channel there in my opinion. Not instruction, just information put out in an understandable way with an emphasis that every golfer is unique.
