Long Island, NY. is where I call home.
You ever play River Oaks. I have started to grow fond of that track.
I played it once or twice a week this summer around 6am (when there was still golfing that early in our neck of the woods). I would just walk the back 9 before work. I love the back 9, but really struggle with the narrowness of the front 9. Great condition though…definitely a keeper. Fox Hollow, Glenmoor, and Bountiful Ridge are always close to my heart. (and Carbon Country Club in Price…since I grew up there). What are your favorite local courses?
In 2016 I played all 30 of the top courses you can play in Florida according to Golfweek Magazine… At that time I played both the Red and Blue courses… Maybe next year, when they have Florida resident rates again, I will play all three including the new Black course.
Have you played Black yet?
Heard they just put new grass on the greens at the red and blue courses. It’s a Bermuda hybrid that plays more like bent. Really fast and not like traditional Bermuda at all. I think I read they are calling it Mach 1 Bermuda.
Yes, the Black course is very fun, but not the course that Red and Blue are.
Yes, I’m going to play them in two weeks. Can’t wait to see what Mach 1 is all about.
Pictures and a detailed account of what you thought are required.
Will do but I’m expecting the greens to be too fast to capture on film.
Queens, New York
I play a lot on NYC public courses, of which there are 14. And Long Island, home to a lot of great classic courses.
I live in Joplin, MO and play mostly at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club. But my friends and I play all over the 4 state area. Joplin in within 90 minutes of Branson, MO, which is quickly becoming a golf Mecca thanks to Bass Pro Shop owner Johnny Morris and designers like Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods…some really great tracks there that would rival any golf trip you may want to consider. Hit me up if you ever get down this way!!
Victoria, Canada
Have a membership out of Olympic View do most of my golfing there.
Sacramento area here. Play mostly in Rocklin, Roseville, and Auburn.
I tend to play mostly at Cedar Hills, River Oaks and Riverbend. I used to live in Eagle Mountain and played at Talons Cove. They are all good tracks!
Where are those courses?
Hi jdub! I’m in SW Missouri, but grew up in NW Kansas. Are you near Elkhart?
Technically I am a Kiwi
yes sir! love your course in Elkhart…what a nice course in the middle of no where…about an hour away.

Dallas, Texas. Land of the Two-Week Off-Season!
What part of Dallas?
We were members at northwood back before it was insanely expensive (and my dads company footed the tab)
