So with the new club, I can play a 9 in just over an hour (with driving, that’s around an hour and a half door to door), opening up lunch-time 9’s for me and I can also play on the weekends before the rest of the family is really up and about. With that, I’m planning on playing at least 9 holes for the next six days in a row. While I’ve definitely played more holes in a week (used to regularly play 36 holes+ a couple days a week when I was 18), I’m not sure if I’ve ever played that many days in a row before. So how about you? What’s your best streak of golfing days? Also, for marathon days, I did 72 holes in a day once back in my younger days, how about you?
Probably 20? when I was younger… lived in Idaho for a summer and played for free… course was open 7 days a week and I had nothing else to do.
I was there for approximately 90 days, but I’m not sure how often I wouldn’t have played… maybe 3-4 days over the summer, so 20 sounds right.
As an adult, like 8 or 9. As a kid, probably 20?
It’s probably three. Might even be two
Im not sure as when I was 18 I was playing and practicing every day for a while. At the moment I play 6 days every week as my membership doesn’t let me play Saturdays. Last year as a 6 day member I squeezed in 416 rounds so a lot of days I played 36 holes and a few times I played 54 holes
During the summer of 2019, I walked 18 ten straight days. I was playing so well and didn’t want to lose the momentum. At 54 yo playing in 95 or so degree heat and high humudity, that was way too much.
I used to play everyday. But now I rarely go more than three in a row.
If we’re talking strictly playing and not practicing only for for me. Now if we’re talking practicing at least 15 days in a row. Sometimes practice days I’ll play three or four holes with my coach. Sometimes we’ll get in nine.
I played every day from the day golf season started - usually early April in SD - until the day school started back up in September pretty much every summer from 7th grade until I graduated high school. So around 100 days or so, which is pretty decent for midwest golf.
I always had a job in the summer working fireworks distribution for my dad, but he made sure I got time to play and practice. Wasn’t always easy after unloading semis for 8 hours.
I have to go back a long way (almost 20 years). Back in college when I briefly played on the team, we visited the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail during spring break. If I’m remembering correctly it was 11 rounds in 7 days.
By the end of the trip, I didn’t want to touch a golf club again. But this was back when I had a terrible attitude about the game
A couple of years ago we did 90 holes in 3 days at Cabot Links/Cliffs. I could’ve easily played more!
As a kid - could have been a month between range time and course time
Now - I may get 3 days if I can talk wife and kids into going to the beach without me for a weekend.
This thread has me questioning many of my life decisions
My parents used the golf course as child care I think when I was a kid. They worked and I played golf all day then they picked my up. I would play 5 days in a row all the time. I think 3 days in a row now is about all I have. Kids, work, life etc haha. It doesn’t help that we live out in the middle of nowhere. There is a course that is within 15-20 mins so I guess I can’t really use that as an excuse too much lol.
Kudos to all you guys that can play a ton of golf!
Probably 5 days for me was a record. I think that was on a golf trip a few years ago. 2-3 days in a row is huge now. I love golf, but not really sure I would want to play every day if I could. I would certainly play more though.
I just did my first hour’ish lunchtime 9 and I definitely think I could do that every day. Great to sort of reset my day.
I like what Jon had to say about the RTJ Trail experience. Not that many years ago, my foursome would take a trip every year to Alabama and play 144 holes over 6 days. We loved it, but it was probably too much golf.
I think my personal record for number of consecutive days played is probably 20, though.
In my 60’s about 16 of us would pile into 6 or 7 cars and drive 400 miles to the middle of Mississippi and play 18 holes and then drive another 400 miles to Biloxi, Mi. We would then play 36 a day for 4 days then drive 800 miles back with another 18 holes just north of Memphis. This was late in the fall and I didn’t want to see my clubs for several months.
I finally got too old for this. The group is still going but no longer doing 36 a day.
Yes I could enjoy a quick 9 most days as that would be great without taking too much time. Not sure I would play 18 every day even if I could. I have other interests and I’m not a big fan of playing in the rain and cold.
5 days, 18 holes per day, on a golf trip to Florida in January of this year.
1st day back at work I fell and broke my ankle.
Started playing ( gingerly) again in May
20-30…other than COVID being bad and all…I did get to play almost every day working from home.
