Uneekor EYE MINI LITE Review: The Best Budget Indoor Launch Monitor?

The Uneekor EYE MINI LITE makes you rethink what’s possible for a cheap golf simulator. It’s not the fanciest or most portable, but it gives you super good data if you’re serious about playing golf inside. No screen, no wireless, just really accurate info for less money. If you need a launch monitor that stays put and doesn’t cost a ton, check this out.

The MINI LITE looks like a smaller EYE MINI, but it’s still awesome. It’s built well, with a tough metal case. The cameras are tucked away, so they won’t break if a ball bounces wrong. It doesn’t have a screen like the regular MINI, so you need a gaming PC to use it, but that’s how they keep the price down. This launch monitor is made to stay in your simulator and work great.

Setting it up isn’t super easy. Uneekor’s stuff is usually kinda technical to set up, and the MINI LITE is no different. It plugs into your PC with an ethernet cable and needs to be plugged in all the time. It won’t work with an iPad or your phone, which sucks if you like wireless stuff. If you don’t know how to mess with network settings, it might be a pain at first. But once it’s all set, it works great.

The best part about the EYE MINI LITE is how accurate it is. When I tested it, it was almost as good as a Trackman and other expensive launch monitors. The spin rates were super close, ball and club speeds were almost the same, and the distances were usually only off by a few yards. That’s amazing for a launch monitor at this price. The driver readings changed a bit more, but that’s normal with different systems.

To get club data, you have to use stickers, which some people might not like. But once they’re on, the device sees them right away and gives you good info. Sometimes the MINI LITE missed the club data, but not often. Overall, it’s really accurate for the price.

Using the MINI LITE with Uneekor’s VIEW software lets you see and change a lot about your practice. You can change what data it shows you, like the ball’s path, where you hit the ball on the clubface, and club data. I liked the slow-motion replay, where you can see exactly how the club hit the ball. This one gives you a close-up view of your swing, frame by frame. If you want to hit the ball better, this is a great tool.

The worst thing about the MINI LITE is that it’s not wireless and doesn’t work with phones. Unlike some others, you can’t take it to the driving range or use it with an iPad. It’s only for indoor simulators. If you want something you can carry around, this isn’t it. But if you want a launch monitor that sits in one place and works great, this is a good choice.

It works well with simulator software. The MINI LITE works with GSPro, E6 Connect, and The Golf Club 2019. But to use other software, you need the Pro subscription, which is $199 a year. That’s not cheap. Uneekor’s REFINE simulator software works, but it doesn’t look as good as FSX Play and doesn’t have as many courses. If you want a simulator with great graphics, get GSPro.

The MINI LITE shows your shots on the screen really fast. As soon as you hit the ball, it pops up. The hitting area is easy to see, and it reads shots all the time without needing to be adjusted. The cameras work well in different lighting, too.

If you are making a home simulator, remember you need more than just the launch monitor. You need a gaming PC, a mat to hit from, a net or screen, and maybe a projector. You’ll probably spend twice as much as the launch monitor costs. But the MINI LITE is still a great deal because it’s super accurate, has fast cameras, and works with a lot of software.

Compared to the new Bushnell LPi, it’s obvious they are trying to compete. The LPi has FSX Play, so the simulator looks better, but the Uneekor MINI LITE is cheaper in the long run. If you’re going to use GSPro, the Uneekor is better because the subscription costs less. If you care more about improving your game than having awesome simulator graphics, the MINI LITE is a smarter pick.

The Uneekor EYE MINI LITE isn’t for everyone, but it’s a great value for some golfers. If you want a really good indoor launch monitor without paying extra for a screen or wireless, this is a great choice. Just be ready for a slightly difficult setup and needing a gaming PC. But once it’s running, the MINI LITE gives you super accurate data for under $3,000. If you want a cheap, great simulator, this might be exactly what you need.
