Trackman Golf Simulator Review – My Full Breakdown

Okay, so I’ve been checking out the Trackman iO SIG10 Golf Simulator for a while now. When you hear Trackman, you just know it should be awesome, but you still want to know what’s what before dropping that kind of cash, right? I wanted to see if it really is a good option for setting up a cool simulator at home.

The first thing I saw was how it goes together. This thing goes up on your ceiling, which is cool because you don’t have any floor stands to trip over or junking up your space. It looks really clean that way. But for real, check your ceiling height! Trackman says you need at least 9 feet 10 inches. And they aren’t kidding either. Any lower and it’s just going to be a pain. But if you’ve got the height, it’s one of the neatest setups I’ve seen.

Okay so concerning, how it performs? This is Trackman’s way for radar and camera tech get together. They call it OERT, but it’s the radar and high-speed infrared cameras working to track your ball and club really well. You get all the basic stuff, like ball speed, how far you hit it, launch angle, and spin. But it also gets into the nitty-gritty, like club path and face angle, if you’re into fixing your swing. It feels like every shot is being watched really carefully and it should be, when you’re paying this much.

The SIG10 hitting bay is included, and it’s built really well. There’s enough room to move around in the hitting area and the screen holds up great when you hit the ball into it. It also looks good once you get a projector going. Oh, and you’ll need what they call a short throw’ projector to work with the hitting bay. Yes, the projector mount and cables come included, no extra cost there.

Here’s where Trackman stands out: its software. You get access to their whole Virtual Golf 2 platform, which includes a bunch of courses, training stuff and challenges. The graphics are pretty nice, you get shot info instantly, and it feels awesome from the start. Plus, it runs on a PC, so you don’t need fancy systems or anything, as long as your computer can handle it.

The unit has Wi-Fi and ethernet built in, so updates are simple and it doesn’t take forever. You can download your data, look at your sessions, and really dig into what you should be changing.

About battery life well, there is not any. It needs to be plugged in all the time. This is because it belongs in your room all the time, not in the car going to the driving range. It makes sense, it is like a fixture in your room.

So, who’s this for? It’s not for someone that plays golf once a month, this is for the person that wants data, accuracy and has the space to make it worth it. This stuff is not cheap, but you are buying the same systems that the pros use. So you have high hopes, and Trackman gets the job done.

Do you have the space and spending money? Then this is the best system for your home out there. It’s awesome equipment; it’s immersive, and just feels solid.
