I am a senior golfer RH. Suffer a right hand, wrist, forearm injury. My body deposited back more bone than needed resulting in limited motion mainly in wrist. Was told golf might be possible but not like it was. Here is my game now: 1/4 to 1/2 swing my plane is ok. beyond 1/2 to 3/4 my plane moves almost a club face. I correct all in setup positioning club face more away from ball and slightly open which results in close to and perfect strikes. I am very good in stance, no swaying, take away is along body and or slightly away. Have not play a round in 2 years. Practice now moving into irons , then hybrids, then 3 wood, and driver will be last. Sometimes I am thinking those injuries while very serious actually have helped my game. Good day to all.
I have played golf with a gentleman with a fairly serious injury to his right arm… he could still swing a club, it just took some adjustment.
Honestly, the nice part about golf is it doesn’t have to be competitive and you can just work to improve your own game.
Hopefully you find a way to make it work, but it sounds like you have a good attitude for it… just keep grinding!
I am assuming your back swing is now a more deliberate pace? So your swing speed can be more consistent without being jerky. Smooth it out and adjust your distance via the club versus swinging harder. I would imagine with stretching and playing your range of motion can improve as you break down scar tissue and your wrist and arms tends to loosen up. It would be interesting to have a friend take a video once a month and see if it is changing and how much. Good luck!
