This is a pretty cool opportunity for a 10-20 handicap to get to work with Lou.
I’m contemplating applying even though I’m a 7 handicap… figure it might be a good fit for someone here.

Did this ever develop? I need details. Dang it why did i find out too late
Follow him on twitter and pay attention - he does these things from time to time. Likely you’ll need a launch monitor of some description. Probably Mevo+, Skytrak or up from there.
Not a twitter guy but have gcquad and mevo plus.
And desire. And hard work ethic.
What i lack is talent.
Im just looking for someone smart enough to overcome some serious LOFT.
I dont see a podcast with results however.
He picked a guy… not sure what’s going on with it… he’s a CEO out of Dallas…
You and me both…
As a fellow sufferer, I think, (EDIT: We’re talking about ball flight, right? Or is that an acronym I’m not familiar with?) can the issue be helped with an equipment change? Stiffer, lower kick point shafts, that sort of thing? Most everything I read about modern irons, particularly GI ones, is how their construction facilitates much higher launch than irons of even 10 years ago.
Obviously, go see a club fitter before messing with anything, and it may even be something fixable with a quick lesson by someone knowledgeable, but this was just a thought.
LOFT.
Lack Of F’ing Talent
You have a GCQuad and a Mevo+? I know someone who’ll take that GCQuad off your hands for only a small sum…
More seriously - why?
Because two gcquads was more than my wife would let me spend? One sim for daytime and one sim for night (home).
Mevo easier to take around to ranges and not get curious people talking to you. Also somewhat less self conscious given how not great i am at golf
Well, at least you’re not unwilling to spend money to get better… Go you. Seriously, that’s fantastic. What does your in-person instructor pro think? Of your game and your progress?
Fred Shoemaker’s book, “Extraordinary Golf,” might be beneficial for you. Quite short, but I found it incredibly useful in changing my views about golf and what I want from it. Which previously, were a bit like you sound in these few posts, and for me, my older views weren’t beneficial in helping me achieve my goals.
Have faith in yourself; very few people will believe in you, if even you won’t.
I’ve been getting lessons for 25 years. I am usually with an instructor for about 3-4 years before they steer me elsewhere, exhausted by my lack of progress and my energy. The last lesson, which was last week, ended with swing looking way better, scores will come around. (But I’ve heard that before I’m still in year 1 with the current instructor)
I think the gc quad has been a game changer. Before that had gc2 which wasn’t nearly as good. I’m a sweeper and can hit up two with even long irons. I think that was something that likely was holding me back. I’m trying to get a little more down hitting to see if that is what is holding me back. The spin axis has been very good at illustrating to me why my balls take off uncontrollably.
I would say most of my teachers i remain close with. Most of them stopped taking my money after a while and tried to focus on short game skill challenges and playing with me. Nobody (I’ve met)really understands why someone who practices as much as me can’t get better. I’m trying to use technology to overcome my athletic deficiencies and I’m in a race against time and my aging body.
There’s a very real chance i’m the worst practicer in the world. Adam’s book has been very helpful, as has the Better Faster book in particular.
Good luck to you! I hope you have fun with golf and achieve whatever goals you have in mind, if any
Thanks for asking!
