Non-tapered Grips

Exploring the idea of non-tapered grips the next time I regrip my clubs. Does anyone here have any experience with these or brand recommendations?
My reasoning is that I like taking full swings across all my clubs, so I tend to grip down when I want to take off some distance. If I have a consistent grip size all the way down, that may help keep my hold on the club more consistent as well. Seems like most of the non-tapered options are oversized, so I’m willing to see how that feels, although I don’t really want to go Bryson super-jumbo sized or anything.

I’ve never gone with no taper, but I’m a big fan of reduced taper…honestly I prefer hardly any. I play GP CP2 Pro and they are a midsize with little taper in my opinion. Most grips I would put 5-6 layers of tape under the right hand, but I don’t use any extra with these. The old Winn Excel Mids had very little taper either. Some of the newer grips have reduced taper, but I’ll still add maybe 3 layers of tape to those.

Golfworks used to have a no taper grip. I liked the shape, but the material wasn’t the most comfortable. I haven’t tried the Jumbomax grips that have become popular, but they look nice. I find I can’t use too large a grip or I struggle releasing the club. +1/32" to +1/16" is usually plenty for me, but that’s relative as you need to watch the shaft butt OD and the grip itself as they vary.

I switched to mid-size +4 grips las year and love them. My reasoning was the same as yours and I’ve been very happy. I believe golf pride offers +4 in all grip sizes, but only for a handful of their grips.

As stated above you can always add layers of tape on the bottom hand to reduce the taper.
