Golf tips magazine highly recommends these clubs. ( at least the ad in the magazine says so). I’ve also seen ads on us golf tv show. I’m thinking about one in a 3 fairway wood. But it’s kinda pricy, and all the on line reviews I find seem kind of fishy. They all have a purchase link to website. Does any one have an actual opinion or has used one of these clubs? Or even seen one in use? Thanks
I’ve participated in golf forums for the past 8 years… I’ve also been looking for a diet pill for the past 20.
Anything that claims superior distance (or weight loss) that isn’t immediately validated by the major players is suspect.
I’m not saying it doesn’t do as advertised, I’m just saying that if it did, why wouldn’t everyone be playing one?
great response
The major OEMs have NASA-level talent working for them (no joke). You think some unknown company could come along and really out-engineer Callaway/PING/TM/Titleist/Cobra etc - I doubt it!
It’s usually a marketing scam. The golf industry loves to do this to people.
98% sure it’s hype…but I saw they have an eBay distributor with a demo model of the 2020 driver for cheap, so I’ll let you know (the fact that they accepted my fairly low-ball offer might be saying something).
Please do let me know, if it’s like advertised I’d be fine with a low ball offer too. Thank you
Until they have the balls to put them in a Club Champion to let me test them against everything else I’ll assume their claims are unfounded.
Driver arrived today, can’t say it’s the prettiest club in the world (really nice headcover though), but I’ll give it a try out on the course tomorrow.
Thank you for letting me know. I wouldn’t call it the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen though. I’m very curious how it holds up to expectations. And how it sounds too. I really need an honest opinion. By the way, is the whole damn thing blue? I was kinda under the impression the 257+ was black. Thanks again for helping me out, I hope you didn’t buy it just for some stranger in Colorado
Nah, I just want to hit longer, straighter drives! Really though, for what might be a “gimmick” club it seems like they have something legit for making high COR off the sweet spot.
The club has a lot of blue accent and pinstriping, but the crown is mostly black. At address it doesn’t look half bad. I’ll grab a picture of that tomorrow.
Brief review of the Knuth 257+ driver:
Not a good loud either, but ear piercing and ringing loud. I hit it three times this morning, the first was my best shot because I didn’t know what to expect. With the other two, I don’t think I could help but brace myself against the noise, so the swings were awful. Played the rest of the round with my 7wood off the tee.
I think I understand why the major manufacturers haven’t produced anything with this “not technically non-conforming” design before. I’m guessing they tried, but there is no way of doing it without making a driver that doesn’t sound horrible. The fairway woods and hybrids likely wouldn’t be so bad, so might be worth a shot, but this driver is definitely getting returned.
Thank you for the honest review. I think I’m not going to risk the money on a fairway wood. I will probably stick with a name brand club rather than trying a gimmick club. I do appreciate the help
haha another “too good to be true” claim dismissed. Thanks for including this!
To be fair, I don’t think I’ve really tested the claims yet, but in order to really test them, I’d need earplugs and a sound proof hitting bay with launch monitor (or absolutely no shame in annoying the heck out of any other golfers at the range/within a 1 mile radius)
Just yell kapow while you are swinging!
I saw a utube vid a while ago when some pom bought a really cheap Taylor Made driver off the net and when it arrived it was a cheap knock off from China( like he was expecting) and then he tested it against the real deal and it didn’t compare. I think that one was loud as well. Never believe hype!
Put together a little review for the main site. Can see it here:
Thank You. It is refreshing to see an unbiased review (finally) for this club.
