Any tips for balancing aggressive shots versus playing it safe?
When you have to go through trees pick the biggest gap even if is sideways. Hero shots rarely work and cost you more shots in the long run. My shot shape is right to left and I always aim well right of the pin. If it misses right I consider that to be a good shot.
