Golf in Alaska?

I know this is a strange request… but here goes.

I am looking for first hand information from those who have played golf in Alaska!!!

I am thinking about golf trips next Summer… when I do that I pull out Golfweek Magazine’s List of Top Courses to Play by State. In the past I have travelled around Florida, Nebraska and South Carolina to play all the courses they listed as best in the state, that you can get on. I have also covered about half of those in New York state, and will probably finish that list next year.

So I was thinking, since Alaska is the only state I have not visited – why not!

BTW, my back up plan is to play the top courses in Delaware, since I had that mapped out for this year … and then COVID 19 put an end to those plans.

Zero experience golfing in Alaska, but go when it’s sunny all day and you can knock out 2-3 courses a day!

I’ve never played there. Too much else to see and do in Alaska that is unique.

I will be checking out the tourist stuff

One thing I am planning is taking the 12 hour train ride from Anchorage to Fairbanks, since it stops in Denali Park – I am sure I will enjoy all the scenery. Other thoughts on where I should go or things I must do as a tourist in Anchorage or the Fairbanks areas?

If you’re anywhere near Wrangell, go to the Anan Bear and Wildlife Observatory.
