Edison Wedges Experience?

So I locked into this company because they share a name with my son and I really enjoy good looking wedges.

Hopefully that link takes you to their IG.

I just haven’t heard much about them outside what they post on their IG. I know they’re fully forged which is something I like. They make a lot of claims. They’re expensive. I don’t know that there’s anywhere near me that has them as an option for fitting - but they look really good.

Anyone have any knowledge or experience with Edison wedges?

I try not to say bad things about companies, especially ones I haven’t done business with…

Terry Koehler from GolfWRX is involved with this company and is “the wedge guy” on their site… i decided to check it out and go through the fitting process and see what it was all about… was looking for a deep dive into grinds, bounces, specs… started the survey… finished the survey… was not impressed with the results and got nothing but loft suggestions.

Now my email is inundated with their marketing…

I don’t know… as a potential customer I just wasn’t particularly impressed. I haven’t seen anything elsewhere about their wedges being good, so my assumption is they are more hat than cattle.

Plenty of other small wedge companies to give my money to… if I were looking to drop some cash, I’d probably go with artisan out of Texas. Gorgeous wedges and every review I have seen has been positive.

I haven’t done business with Edison, those are just my experiences as a potential consumer.

This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for! Thanks @Craigers for doing the footwork I was too lazy to do. :joy:

No worries. You asked so I gave you my experience…

I actually really want to learn how to grind wedges, but my golf budget is already non existent.

I’m looking into getting some fitting certifications. My wife keeps telling me to get a part time job at Club Champion, not for the money but to “feed my soul” and get it out of system so I stop trying to talk to her about equipment and specs. :joy:

I love my 60* Vokey out of the bunkers, but the full shot ones really aren’t very forgiving, I’ve been interested in more forgiving wedges. I’ll go check our Artisan too. Not sure I can get to Texas though for a fitting lol

Hmm… we did just get a club champion here! Sadly it’s across the street from my favorite golf store and it would just make me sad to compete with them! (And Tony has enough great help!)

I talked to Terry a few years ago about a job after he re-launched Hogan, but then it fell through. Apparently he was pretty innovative with sole design w/ progressive bounce, and did good stuff w/ Scor wedges before that. I’m sure Edisons are pretty good, but not the sexiest wedge out there.

Ooooh sexy wedges is a discussion I am so here for. Please, enlighten me.

I would include Artisan Golf in Tx. Also Honma has some cool custom options from the Wedge Wizard (who also built my driver) . His IG page is pretty sick, and also shows some of his work before Honma

Yeah, as I said, I haven’t tried the product… the intro experience as someone who is excited about wedges just fell flat for me and I got a ton of emails from them… just felt very pushy.

I’ve seen some awesome work with wedges, stuff I wouldn’t want to hit (and thus won’t buy)… sub70 has a cool looking Stars and Stripes wedge!

Artisan is definitely the best known for fully custom wedges… Miura also apparently sells wedges now…

I’ve been all over the spectrum in my shopping… cheap golf works wedges to the fully customized ones… I’d love to meet bob vokey and see his opinions!

Wedges are an interesting piece of golf equipment… they are the only really “disposable” club in a bag as you should replace them every few years…

I’ve been contemplating my next set and I’m still not sure my plan. I’m also not knowledgeable about grinds… if love to learn more, but haven’t taken the time.

I’m a big believer in “you get what you pay for” when it comes to golf clubs. I’m not a “brand snob” by any means, but I have tooled around with some knockoffs and lesser-known brands a little over my 50+ years of playing, but I always go back to the standards like Vokey, Odyssey, Ping, and so on.

Generally, I don’t disagree, but there are good value brands out there. Snell and sub70 come to mind.
