Lawsonia Woodlands (recently renovated). A much better Robin to the Links Batman. I’d still play 8 of 10 times at the Links, but the Woodlands doesn’t feel as much like a consolation prize as it used to.
Quarry Oaks in Ashland, NE
These give you a fraction of an idea of the tee shots that wait for you out there. Beautiful course perfectly weaved through Nebraska hills. Lots of elevation changes, tight landing areas, and one sad grave site for some young children. Greens are pure and hold good shots. Many blind approaches and tough tee shots. Somehow the course record is 59 and I’ll never understand how someone could be that dialed in at this course. It’s legit hard. I played well and shot Even. Could’ve maybe be 3 or 4 under had some bounces gone my way or a couple close putts dropped, but not at all disappointed in even par at this course.
Sheep Ranch at bandon dunes
Mount snow in VT, fall golf at its finest
I love the leaves starting to change.
Nasty looking shot to make in the second photo. Vaguely reminds me of Tour 18’s, Augusta #12.
(No, I didn’t do well there…but I did finish up the round with about the most perfect 3-iron I’ve ever hit, at the course-ending Harbour Town 18th)
Going to have to get out and add to this thread. Especially in Winter, LOL. Thanks everyone for the contributions so far.
Those are from Crumpin Fox, possibly one of my new favorite courses I’ve ever played
That’s me on the far left, moments before hitting one of the best shots of my life. Pebble Beach #8, in the fog. Stuck it to about 6 feet from there. (missed the birdie putt)
I was saying to myself on the first photo (before I scrolled down, obv), “Ooohhh! That looks like 15 at Spyglass!” The more I look at it—it has been awhile—I wonder if it’s 12 though?
Pretty place, isn’t it? Did you mind the iceplant? It’s endemic in that part of California. We had a bunch in front of our house growing up, where the State had planted it for erosion control adjacent to the highway. I’ve found it to be a PITA trying to get whiffle golf balls out of…
Incredible photos. Eight at Pebble really does like something that isn’t even real, like a computer game came up with that hole.
Yes, it’s #12. What a great course.
I didn’t notice the iceplant, so I guess I was lucky to avoid it.
Not as spectacular, photo-wise, but there’s something really special about playing a course that winds through a working apple orchard in the fall.
And yes, you’re welcome to pick/eat as you go, but don’t be that dick we were following two holes back who would take one bite and chuck the rest.
