My golfing life so far:

• The early years (1992-96): Very keen junior. Too keen. Played off 18, never really got anywhere. Left for university and regular rounds came to a halt…

• The wilderness years (1997-2019): I kept my hand in, playing a handful of rounds a year and not taking things too seriously. Noted how my lower expectations meant my game didn’t really get any worse…

• The born-again years (2020-?): Not sure what happened, but I found myself properly bitten by the bug again last year. Joined my local club, upgraded my clubs (which I’d had since I was 16), and am now trying to reach my true golfing potential - whatever that turns out to be!

I came across Practical Golf during this last phase and have found it to be one of the best sites out there. Looking forward to reading the community’s thoughts!
