What is a good golf handicap?

Depending on your definition of ‘golfer’ this could easily be true. If you were to average all rounds played on all golf courses I bet the average score would be north of 100 (if score was kept legitimately). You have to keep in mind that the subset of golfers who carry a handicap are not representative of golfers as a whole - they are much better on average.

Great article. To me particularly, a good handicap is one that is decreasing, however slowly. Starting from the far right of the bell curve, aiming at getting better (cannot get worse, LOL) Improvement is the mental challenge that elevates golf over a simple exercise in enjoyment, not that that’s a bad thing either!

Sure that can apply to many sports, but golf is really unique in that’s it’s truly just you - against you - on the course :golf::golfing_man:

I’m a 4.3 today and played 9 & shot 36 today at my local muni. I have ben as low as a 2.1 years ago. Been playing more during these Covid times
