What Did You Shoot - Papageorgio

Yes, course was 73 / 130 I believe (we were playing back tees).

#3 - double bogey: hit driver left into the trees. Get too aggressive with my punch out (tried to get on the green) from 150 and hit a tree 50 yds from green. Hit a wedge 40’ long and then 3 putt down the hill (lagged to about 6 ft)

#4 - bogey: driver left, have to take an unplayable as I am a few inches from the boundary fence, punch out, 5 iron to 20’ and two putt

One mental error (getting too aggressive on the medicine shot) but generally just need to continue to work on driver and putting. Irons were on all day. Made par on both par 3’s which were playing 200 and 215 respectively

82

NGIR: 12
Putts: 35
Double Bogeys: 2
Par 5 Scoring: 1 over
3 putts: 4
Double Chips: 4

Conditions: 55 degrees, with wind and rain

Tough day. Had the driver missing both ways. Actually had to grind like crazy to shoot 82 given the conditions and ball striking. Chipping wasn’t as bad as it looks as I had:

  • two shots land on the top lips of bunkers, ball buried in rough at about belly button height
  • two short side misses on Texas hard pan… I don’t know if anyone has tips to play delicate shot off hard pan, but these shots cost me my match

Putting was the most disappointing, missed 3 putts on the back from about 5 feet. Wind was definitely strong enough that it was affecting balls on the green

Most disappointing of all, I blew a two up lead to the father in law to lose 2 and 1. Devastating

6 over through 8, 4 bogeys, a double, 3 pars. Two of four bogeys the putt for par was missed by less than a foot. Skipped a hole because of time constraints. Really starting to make big moves in my game. My double bogey, tee shot into the desert hazard. Third shot into desert hazard. Fifth shot 3 feet from pin one putt. Had 17 putts, one three putt no one putts. All in all I’m much happier with my game, the score will come now that my ball striking is getting consistent. It’s a slow burn for me, as my misses used to be right and now they’re starting to be left, because i set up left for a right miss. However, my swing change is just about done and I have to start trusting that my misses are left more than right and start setting up for a middle fairway or green shot.

7 holes

2 over par

5/7 greens

12 putts (2 under)

No doubles, no 3 putts

Every thing good, but probably time for a lesson. Hitting a pull cut with driver which is not my shape and having trouble dialing it back in. Currently playable but I know how this story ends
