Wedge control practice

The sensor on the PRGR is much smaller, but I’ve had plenty of success measuring my wedge distances. The trick is to get it set up properly (height and distance) based on how you launch your wedges. SkyTrak will be more consistent and accurate, but obviously it’s 10x the cost.

I know I’m the opposite side of the country from you Jon, but do you have any tips or recommendations on how to get on a launch monitor? Might just be the COVID times, but everywhere I call only allows it for fittings (which could be valuable but more than I would be looking to spend for a launch monitor session since I wouldn’t be buying clubs). Can’t seem to find any coaches in my area that offer launch monitor specific sessions, so I wonder if there’s a gap here in the industry (or at least around me).

I think your two best bets are some kind of simulator business or a golf professional that has a Trackman/GCQuad/FlightScope - often times they’ll do a session where you can benchmark your club distances.

I’ve found that simulator businesses are really much of a thing around here in Los Angeles (probably because we can play outdoors year round!)
For the golf pros, probably a sign of the times and how busy they are (which is a very good thing!), but everyone I call is only offering launch monitor data with full lesson packages or full assessment sessions at $300+. I may have to just reset my expectations if that seems like a normal price point.

I’m not completely surprised. If things were less busy than perhaps you could have gotten a better deal, but as you know golf is booming right now

And that, even if personally inconvenient, is a fantastic thing!

Isnt Mike near la? I’m pretty sure he has access to a launch monitor, not sure where he goes, but he puts his chs up pretty consistently.

Maybe try him on Twitter? Fit for golf…

It’s odd, as there are plenty of golf simulators in Louisville. $25 an hour.
