Q&A Series With Coaches (feedback requested)

One of the things I’d like to do here is have Q&A threads with various coaches/resources that I’ve been fortunate enough to meet over the years. I would hope to specialize in specific topics like clubfitting, wedge play, building speed, improving strike etc.

I’m thinking of the best way to do it logistically. Perhaps I will get their permission beforehand, and have all of you submit questions over several days, and then they can (hopefully) answer most of them the best they can. That way we can have a library of these threads people can access in the future.

Or I could make it a podcast format?

What do you think? Who would you like to see?

I’d be game for another podcast to listen to. Would be nice to start one from the beginning that way I don’t have to decide whether or not I really want to dig into a massive backlog.

I love the option of having direct communication with coaches. They have a way of making things make sense in a simple way that the rest of us don’t.
Amazing that we could have that opportunity through this forum.

I think podcast would be great. Easier to convey and pick up thoughts/concepts when hearing it as compared to reading. Just my $.02

Tell us in a new topic who the coach is and what they specialize in and let us ask some questions in that topic and they can answer them in the topic when they have time!

I think this has a chance to be great! I’d read and/or listen. After you get the podcasting stuff set up I bet that medium would be easiest for your guests.

I know Podcasts are popular, and easy to produce and to consume, but … ironically I don’t have time to sit and listen… So, if possible, I’d appreciate a transcript.

If you were looking for ideas for coach-guests (?) maybe things like…

  • Adam Young talking about practice methods
  • John Hobbins talking about putting and AimPoint (going to see him tmrw!)
  • David Mackenzie talking about mental game strategies and techniques
  • a pro club fitter talking about different putter styles and why finding the right putter for you is (way) more important than how it looks or how much it costs

Thank you for the suggestions!

I’d love to hear a Q&A with Sasho Mackenzie, the geekier the better.
