PGA Tour Fall Events

I guess its just lack of familiarity with the courses, “weaker” fields, and possibly due to it being football season, but I just can’t get into the fall events (aside from majors this year). Jan - Aug I’m watching all the events.

I know how important they are for some guys to get a jump on fedex cup points, get additional starts, etc.

Anyone else have similar take on the events?

I think I read that there will be 50 (correct me if I’m wrong) events this season.

IMO the PGA Tour has diluted their product with all of these events. I have very little interest in the fall season and don’t tune in that often. I’d like to see more of the exhibition matches rather than full-field tournaments, but that’s just me.

I love the exhibition matches they have been doing. Sign me up for more of these!

Agree on exhibitions, though as I mentioned in another discussion - need to get them to stop always having them among “friends” or guys that act like they get along.

Give me a true “match” where the guys don’t like each other or guys who will take it seriously

Brooks vs Bryson
Smylie vs. the NLU guys
Keegan vs. Jimenez
Sung Kang vs. Joel Dahmen
Justin Rose vs. American fan who made the putt at ryder cup (rematch)
Brooks vs. DJ (are they really buddy/buddy?)

I try to catch coverage of all events in the past on a replay usually at night…I have yet to watch an event of the “NEW” wrap around season…i will watch when the stars show back up.

It’s fun seeing lesser knowns and journeymen win and secure their cards, but I agree. Like any sport, it needs its superstars.

Masters is Coming.

I like to watch in January during the Hawaii swing and dream of getting out there while it is snowing here haha!

Unless it’s a major, I don’t really feel the urge to sit down and watch golf. I’ll tune in and out, but there always tends to be something I feel like I’d rather be doing (like playing golf!). If anything, for non-major golf watching, I’d prefer to watch the LPGA. I think their game is overall more relatable (distances, etc.) and the personalities are overall better.

I usually tune out of golf by this time of year. But this is no ordinary year. And I’m getting excited for the Masters.

Agreed - January is best with Hawaii & California events for primetime/late night golf. I just can’t do Sept-December.

I really have no interest in watching PGA Tour events except for the majors. The LPGA interests me much more from week to week.

I love watching the ladies play. I always wish I could swing like them.

Even though they would absolutely crush me, I can relate a lot more to their games than I can to the pros on the PGA Tour.
