The very few times I’ve had to play in a cart these days, I’ve appreciated the speakers built in to the carts that are becoming more popular. Seems like they’re designed to keep the sound really contained to the immediate cart area, so keeps the noise reasonable and not distracting.
Those are really nice. They put a limit on how high the volume can go and dont have to worry about bringing or forgetting a bluetooth speaker.
The rounds I do like to have music playing, I actually prefer to just play it from my phone rather than a speaker. Similar to those carts it only gets so loud and avoids being annoying to anybody else.
Classic Rock is the best way to go. Doesn’t seem to offend anyone. Country is risky.
I don’t play music, but if someone really wants it I’m ok with it (it’s very rare). But the only thing I’ll ever veto is death metal
Couldn’t agree more! Didn’t know carts might come with speakers, I’m glad the ones on the local course do not! Minus music and loud talking, the soundscape on a course is magic!
There is one of the cons of music on the course (when loud enough to distract others) Everyone, personally, and also by age group, prefers different music! I could conceivably play well if instrumental or classical music playing, but I detest rap and techno…
Does Jake Trout and the Flounders on the way to the course count?
Or Led Zeppelin?
I’m working on my on course playlist… I usually just listen to music when I’m playing by myself, though… I’m usually playing with guys who grew up listening to music on records, so I stay quiet!
Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Mr Sandman, Wild Thing, If I Only Had A Brain, Sultans of Swing.
My wife added Hard To Be Humble. She might be trying to tell me something.
Ode to Joy, O Fortuna, Enter Sandman, Isis, Sara, Sympathy for the Devil, Gimme Shelter, Scarborough Fair
I prefer listening to birds, , little animals, and crickets. I play music on the range…not on the course, I want to get away from everything on the course. Nature’s music for me.
This is actually more Practice Playlist. During the actual round I’m too busy bullshitting with my playing companions.
We should have had some music for our last tournament. It was a 5+ hour slog. Not sure why since it was mostly members and just straight up golf. I wasn’t playing well and hate when I have to play bad golf slowly.
Gawd, yes. Playing bad golf quickly, like my two rounds this week, is one thing. Stewing in in for 5+ hours is something else. At that point, I consider snapping a shaft to use to commit seppuku.
