Grow a teeing ground in backyard

How hard would it be to grow a 15’ by 15’ teeing ground in my backyard? I have plenty of space and currently grow st. augustine.

Thoughts? War stories?

why are you only asking about a teeing ground and not a green too??!!

Lol

I am thinking full swing shots into a net one direction and then a little 30 yd wedge range the other (various nets).

I have 2 or 3 family friends that put turf greens in but I am not sure how valuable that is for practice (it is fun to putt for money when having people over though )

I think you will run into maintenance issues and it will be a pain to mow… but I have no practical experience…

My understanding after some brief research is that you need a special mower and it has to be mowed every other day

I don’t need any new hobbies but i would love for people to refer to me as the “lawn care nut”

Frozen rain here in austin today. One day where I cannot go to the range and already trying to figure out if i can jam a net return and skytrak in my garage

I have a one car garage and it is tight! But it works great for the 6 months of winter.

None of this is rational. I live 5 minutes from the range. The only issue is that the 1.5 hours between kids going to sleep and my bedtime would be a great time to hit balls
