Fun Golf Traditions

What are some of the fun golf traditions that you have adopted over the years? As an example, whenever my brother-in-law and I have a putt near each other we tend to quickly sing “I want youuuu, to show me the way”. Or when we rocket a drive into the trees and it gets kicked out into the fairway we say something like “I am the Lorax, I speak for the trees” (yes, we’re incredibly dorky)

Or my favorite example, my friend and I have a long-standing tradition that the loser of the round has to take a knee in front of the winner on the last green and pay homage to them. It’s much more humiliating than paying out a lost bet, especially if 18 is near the clubhouse

Eight of us longtime friends take an annual three-day trip to a great golf resort.

My three best friends and I who have been friends for 30+ years have all moved and spread out. Every year we take a couple days off work to meet in the “middle” in our hometown and play all the courses we grew up on, then hit up our favorite nostalgia food spots. It’s the 3-4 days a year I look forward to the most.

I’m jealous of anyone who said golf trips! I had finally convinced some buddies it was time and we were planning when COVID struck
