Fall Masters 2020

Ha, just as good as what I do now!

I’m low on Bryson, as I don’t think his scientific method will work on the greens without a greens book.

Tiger is always a contender but unlikely to be a sleeper pick… he’ll probably be in 30% of the picks I’m against… I don’t think the math works to pick him…

I’ll probably go 2-3 young, long guys and 3-4 “veterans” who have done well in the past…

I’ll also probably finish in the middle of the pack!

Spieth has flashed enough form lately that I’ll take a chance on him in my season long pool, where I need to make up ground. Dude loves him some Augusta

Doesn’t the caddie make the green book? What stops Bryson making his own? Then does that make him a favourite. What about Mr majors Brooks?

From what I’ve read, Augusta doesn’t have the fully mapped slope books that they get for every other course… it’s the information that slows him down on every green… he basically has a method for putting that tries to eliminate feel.

I don’t think he’ll have what he needs to get it done.

Not sure if you mean with Fanduel with a salary cap or just straight up picks. Here are three of my picks for this year for each salary cap range. I’m fading Bryson, DJ, Koepka, and Tiger but they all could make a run for it too. Majors are tough to pick with all the great players!

High cap players:
Xander Schauffele
Justin Thomas
Rory McIlroy

Mid cap:
Jason Day
Sergio Garcia
Abraham Ancer

Low cap:
Charles Howell III
Sebastian Munoz
Zach Johnson

Does anybody else script their kid for Masters week?

Just for grins, I’m going themed this week for my picks… my pool is a pick 6, top 4 scores (with a salary cap based on current rankings)… I’m going with guys who grew up in the South (or went to college there), not including Florida, and thus have experience playing fall golf.

Patrick Reed MIGHT make the list, but I’m not happy about it… Spieth will also require some arm twisting!

Hah, love the idea. I’d go with Reed over Spieth, and if you want to go extra far south, Cameron Smith is playing well.

My PGA Tour spirit animal Tyrrell Hatton is playing as well as anyone on the planet over the last 9-12 months. At 28:1 I like him.

I feel like with the colder weather and soft conditions from the rain in the forecast we are gonna get someone who’s chasing their first Masters. A bomber like DJ, maybe Rory if he can figure out how to stick a wedge

I thought this was a great visualization from ESPN on how Bryson is going to attack Augusta National. It’s gonna be pretty wild for people to see

Wow, that is super well done. I can’t believe they are talking about him driving a 505yd par 4. I know there is an angle and downhill slope involved, but still!!!

Dunno if anyone else has seen this tweet yet but this is nuts if Sandy Lyle proves to be a reliable source

wow he’s getting soft - only 3 wood on 13?

that is INSANE (if true)

I changed my picks and Bryson is on my team… I feel like I’ll be more upset if he wins and I didn’t pick him than if I pick him and he plays poorly…

I might change my mind!

Sergio is out- COVID diagnosis
