I completely agree. I love that he’s chasing speed and distance and forcing others to do it. I also loved DJ’s response to a reporter asking if he’s going to try to bulk up and swing harder - “I feel pretty comfortable with my game. I’m perfectly fine dinking a fade out there 325.”
I have a tendency to respect the “natural” speed and distance from guys like DJ and Cam Champ over the mechanical robotics of Bryson. I think when it’s natural, it’s easier to straighten out on the fly if things are a little haywire. I think this is what Bryson is going to be. Sometimes on and brilliant. Sometimes way way out of whack. And he isn’t a fix it in the middle of the round kind of guy.
Sometimes brilliant will win a lot of tournaments, though.
